We Don’t Play, We Pray

I must be honest as I begin this blog. I have been sitting at the laptop for hours. I had it on my heart to write a blog about friendship, but each time I would begin it just did not feel right, so I would delete everything each time and start over. Then I thought I would write something about prayer, and that did not work out either, LOL. I sat the laptop to the side, prepared to give up. I prayed and the Lord gave me the idea of writing about friends that pray together. It’s obvious that I should have prayed hours ago, but I digress.

Let me tell y’all about my friends. I have a group of women who I pray with every week. We pray for the needs of our families and for us to be the women that God has called us to be. We started this a few months ago and I must say that the Lord has been answering our prayers. He has answered some in ways that we did not expect. Let me give you an example, as we are praying to become the women that God has called us to be, the Lord has been revealing some things in my heart that I thought I let go of, but I still have been struggling with. Those things would be rejection and underlining depression. You see, sometimes we can’t always pinpoint what is going on in our hearts but the Lord can and when we give it to Him, He can heal us. Anyway, I confess this to my sisters in Christ and you know what, we prayed, and they pray for me, and keep me accountable for the thoughts I allow to enter my mind. The Bible tells us in James 5:16, “Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

As I submit my issues to the Lord, He is faithful to fill me with His joy and His peace. You see, I am thankful that I have women of God that I can pray with weekly and trust that my confidence is kept and trust that the Lord is hearing us. If you don’t have a group of friends that you can pray with, then ask the Lord to send you some. There is no better way to bond with friends than by prayer. You see these ladies are not only my friends, but they are my sisters by the blood of Jesus Christ. I am a blessed and grateful woman and I can only pray that I am as great a friend to them as they are to me. God bless each person reading this! My prayer for all of us is that we would never stop being in awe of the goodness of the Lord and that each one of us has a friend or group of friends we can trust and pray with!

Matthew 18:19-20, “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name there am I among them.”
